Boston24: The Launch: Boston Designers To Watch

The Launch celebrated Boston's up and coming fashion designs for Boston's Fashion Week in September, where the emphasis was on the clothes. So here are some photos I took for Boston24.

I included this one because he reminds me of Dr. Horrible.

Boston24: Movin' Day

This is kinda a bit old, but I took these photos of Boston's (in)famous moving day, when all the college kids that fled Boston during the summer returned back to the coop (Get it? The Coop? The Harvard Co-op? I'm kinda proud of myself for bad Boston humor.) Anyway, I shot this photoessay for my friend Valeria's website, Boston24.

Snow Row '09

My first rowing event this year was at the Snow Row, held on February 28 in Hull, Massachusetts. Three boats from Village Community Boathouse came up from New York to join the race and the festivities. I rowed in the Traveler, a fancy boat with an interesting stern deck (I think that's the term..._): instead of a covered deck, it's open in a way that you can put another boat on top of it. I got to both row and cox, and doing the latter was a bit hard since I preferred the deck to sit on, so I could see over everyone's heads. Anyway, our boat placed second in our division (four person coxed boat) and we were behind by just 14 minutes. We beat the other two New York boats (the Harbor School, and the other VCB boat), which made us feel good. After wandering around the beach for a bit and eating (free!) food, we headed over to the Hull Lifesaving Museum. The Harbor School traveled in style with a limo back to Boston, where the Chinatown bus was waiting for them. Rob dropped me off at the Quincy T stop and they all headed back to New York.

Ickle Baby Jellyfish

These here jellyfish from the New England Aquarium are about as tiny as specks can be, but look at their jellyfish-forms!

A Real City

This entry serves two purposes:

1. To show off a picture I took with this camera that Walter lent me for the time being.

2. Josh and I were watching Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist last week in Boston. When Nick (Michael Cera, a.k.a. my awkward boyfriend) drives into Manhattan via the New Jersey Turnpike/Lincoln Tunnel, the person behind us says, "Now that's a real city." I agree.

We Both Go Down Together

Josh and I went to see the Decemberists perform at Boston's Orpheum Theatre in Boston last Thursday, November 6th. Excuse the shitty quality of the pictures, I had to use my regular Olympus because they wouldn't allow DSLRs in the venue. Anyway, Colin Meloy & Co. are amazing and I need to see them again, preferably from the front row.
