Talkin' Politics with a Six-Year-Old, take 2

I was walking Claire back home after her ballet class over Thanksgiving break when she said to me excitedly, "Do you know what two days I'm looking forward to?"

Expecting her to say Christmas or something, I asked which.

First, she said, "Janurary 9 because my mom is going to come to school and they're going to set up a red carpet and she's going to read to the class."

Cute, I thought. And the second?

"January 20th because that's when Obama's going to become president." She went on to talk about his daughters and how Rob was going to attempt to arrange for a play date for her. Then, she started talking about Obama, McCain and Clinton as we bought cookie dough.

Walking back to the house, she started singing songs she and her classmates made about the candidates.

Clinton's went something like this: "Hilary, you're good, but Obama's the best."

Obama's: "Obama's the best, Obama's the best."

McCain's, which was my personal favorite, went like this: "McCain is a troll, McCain is a monster..." and she stomped for emphasis.

Oh, Claire
